Chow Down!

Even though I still have the occasional nausea and gagging episodes, it looks like I have finally hit the part of my pregnancy where I am HUNGRY! I've started to have some cravings for food, (instead of just being appalled by most of it), and if I get a hold of that food I'm craving, I can eat a lot of it! I love this part. Food is one of my favorite things in the world, and finally being able to enjoy it again is awesome. And the fact that I not only get to enjoy it, but I can eat more of it than usual, it's like my Christmas bonus. Too bad I'm often too tired to cook some of the meals I want... anyone wanna stop by and make us dinner??

I had a doctor's appointment this week. Not much happened, but Kash and I did get to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time on the doppler. The doctor commented that it was pretty fast, about 150 to 155 beats per minute, which is in the normal range. She said everything sounded really good. And the old wives tale says that a baby with a fast heartbeat is a girl, so looks like my prediction might be right. (I wonder what Kash's heart rate was though, I'll have to check his blog...)

belly shapes and pregnancy brain

This week's been kinda boring, regarding the pregnancy anyway. TJ noticed that my belly button has already started to poke out, (I noticed this a while ago, but was trying not to acknowledge it; I think it's one of the uglier things that happens during pregnancy). I've also been able to notice that my diastasis recti from Kash's pregnancy (the separation of my ab muscles) never healed, so my stomach sometimes takes on a strange shape. I couldn't tell if it had healed after Kash was born, until now. I was hoping it had, so that I could avoid having to have it surgically corrected. Hopefully this second pregnancy doesn't make it any worse, I could still avoid surgery this way. (And for those of you who weren't following Kash's pregnancy blog, you can read all about diastasis recti HERE.

I may be starting to experience pregnancy brain, I missed a doctor's appointment this morning, totally forgot about it. I'm actually kind of glad that I did though; after I found out how much we are going to have to pay out of pocket to deliver this baby, I'd rather reschedule the appointment for next year so that some of that out of pocket money can go towards my deductible. And it wasn't one of my monthly OB appointments anyway...

Movement!

I'm pretty sure I felt the little one move this week, and quite a few times actually. Even though everything I've read about the developement of the baby this week has said that although the baby has started to move around quite a bit now, I won't feel the movements for several more weeks. Well, they're wrong. She was doing some cardio of her own after I completed a workout the other morning, that one I know for sure was her. The other few times I felt her, it could have very well been gas, but who's to say it wasn't the baby?

And unfortunately, I was wrong about my morning sickness prediction. It is not going away, it is still lingering, keeping my appetite at bay and my hand over my mouth. I've been even more exhausted than usual this week, (which is why this week's post was posted so late, and also why my house is a freakin' mess).

Here's my latest belly pic, and this week's stats:

Stats
12 weeks 6 days
Starting Weight: 132
Current Weight: 132
Waist @ Belly Button: 33 inches
Growth: none since week 8 (all my growth has apparently been below the belly button, because my belly is obviously bigger!)
